200 HOUR YOGA TEACHER TRAINING
&
ANUSARA IMMERSION AUTUMN 2010
Join Focus Fitness for our 200-Hour Yoga Alliance Certified Teacher Training on the main line. This is the ONLY Teacher Training in the area that includes an ANUSARA IMMERSION led by Michelle Synnestvedt, as part of the offerings (see below for specifics about the Anusara Immersion section of our training). For the first time, we are happy to welcome Robin Daniels to co-lead you on your spiritual journey in the second module of the training. Robin has been teaching for over 10 years and she has a gift for taking the complicated and making it simple and easy to understand. We are welcoming back Sarah Reilly and Allison Sobel, who will help with Robin to empower you to live and teach from your heart. Sarah has been teaching in our area for almost 8 years. There is a sweetness to Sarah that cannot be put into words. You simply have to experience her encouraging and life-affirming class to understand. Allison, the studio owner, challenges her students to live their dreams. She has done just that by creating this beautiful Kula--community--for all-of-the like-minded people to gather and practice towards one goal. Last but not least, as part of your philosophy credits, you will have the opportunity to study with Dr. Douglas Brooks one of the world’s leading scholars of Hindu Tantrism and the esoteric traditions of the Goddess.
Every training day will include a physical practice to help you immerse yourself in yoga! More specifically, you will learn how to assist students in the pose, the tradition and philosophy of yoga, varying forms of pranayamas (the art of breathing), and the anatomy of the body on the physical and subtle body levels. The subtle body includes everything from the emotions that you experience to your energy field--aura and chakras. We will integrate the offerings through chanting, contemplation and journal writing. Robin and Sarah will share some tricks of the trade: The Art of Yoga Teaching; in other words, how to sequence a class, how to inspire your students and stay inspired yourself, and the business of yoga.
In the final module of the training you will begin teaching full-length classes from beginning to end. Robin and Sarah will be there to support you and provide you with productive feedback. You will be surprised at how much your heart can soften and at the very same time how more resilient you can become!
We believe in our program at FFML and look to create inspiring teachers that we would be honored to hire at our own studio. Some of our teachers from last years training have already started working for us. We are proud to add Alyssa Hughlett to our teaching staff. Look for her classes on our schedule.
Perhaps you have no intention on becoming a yoga teacher? This 200 hour training is not exclusive to teachers or potential teachers. There is no pressure to teach yoga only the pleasure and challenge of basking in the deeper knowledge of this practice. You will meet friends who share in the desire to live from the heart and aspire to support others to step into their own greatness. At our studio, there will be yoga to be practiced and life-long friendships to be made. This training is an opportunity to deepen the conversations, to create a path for conscious living, and reveal the fullness of yourself and the true teacher within. Get ready to delve into the mysteries and profound practices of yoga!
Allison Sobel, E-500 RYT and Sarah Reilly, E-200 RYT will lead the training with Certified Anusara Instructor and studio owner of Prasad Yoga, Michelle Synnestvedt and one of the finest Yoga Teachers in our area, Robin Daniels.
