Pilates Class Descriptions

Pilates
Pilates is a series of whole body exercises designed to build strength while developing balance and flexibility. Primarily, these exercises focus on the body’s abdominal and back muscles and on spinal mobility. The majority of the exercises are done on one’s back, promoting core strength in a supported position. Pilates is excellent for all levels of fitness and can be tailored to suit almost any physical limitation.

Core Power Pilates Fusion
Pilates dramatically transforms the way your body looks, feels and performs. It can even alleviate common problems such as back, neck and shoulder pain as well help to prevent injury. Pilates teaches overall body awareness, while improving posture, flexibility, balance, strength and agility which is important to our overall health and well-being. Learning how to properly engage and control your powerhouse is an essential component of other sports activities such as running, biking, golf, and yoga. In this all-levels Pilates Mat class, emphasis will be placed on proper breathing techniques, correct spinal and pelvic alignment and concentration on smooth, flowing movement. The quality of movement is valued over quantity of repetitions. In 10 classes, you’ll feel the difference, in 20 classes you’ll see the difference and in 30 classes you’ll have a whole new body. Beginner through advanced practitioners welcome!

Power Pilates
Pilates dramatically transforms the way your body looks, feels and performs. It builds strength without adding excess bulk, creating a sleek, toned body with slender thighs and a flat abdomen. Pilates teaches body awareness, while improving posture, flexibility, balance, strength and agility. It can even alleviate common problems such as back, neck and shoulder pain as well as prevent injury. In 10 classes, you’ll feel the difference, in 20 classes you’ll see the difference and in 30 classes you’ll have a whole new body. Beginner through advanced practitioners welcome!


Yoga/Pilates Fusion (Y/P Fusion)
A total body and mind workout that combines the best of yoga and Pilates. Combinations of poses, exercises and breathwork strengthens the body, enhances flexibility and provides and a unique exercise experience. This class pays particular attention to building strength and endurance of the core postural muscles to gain stability helping to protect the spine against injury, enhancing posture and creating a fit, streamlined shape. All levels welcome.
