Yoga means union. Yoga is an ancient Indian philosophy that teaches the union of mind, body and soul. While there are many systems of yoga, Hatha Yoga is a physical discipline that focuses on postures (called asanas) and pranayama (breathing).
Our 4 week beginner series focuses on the foundation of yoga practice. You will learn the proper mechanics, alignment and mindful actions of the body for over 35 postures. You will receive individualized attention and gain flexibility, strength and balance. The class is welcoming to beginners, but can also be helpful to experienced yogis seeking more refinement while building a strong yoga practice. Whether you’re new to yoga, rehabilitating from an injury, returning to practice after time away or just want to strengthen the core of your practice, Yoga for Beginners is for you!
